Redlands Sailing ran the sailing schools’ first interschool regatta of the season. In near-perfect sailing conditions, over 80 sailors from 12 schools competed in both Pacers and Elliot 7s, with entries from Wenona, Monte, Riverview, Ascham, St Aloysius & the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron. The Royal Sydney Yacht squadron ran an organised regatta for all the sailors and got all the races needed to be completed. The day consisted of a round-robin series split into two groups, and the top sailors of each group then progressed to the finals. Ali Braden and Ruby Gasmus from Redlands finished on top of group A with four firsts. They moved into the gold fleet finals with Max Nicholson, Hugo Christy, Lucy Baird, and Cleophe Eliatamby in the pacers. It was a great finish for Ali and Ruby, who ended up 3rd after finishing with a 1,7,1 and just missed out on first.
In the Eliott 7s, Oliver Noakes and his team made it to the Gold Fleet finals and finished third overall. We want to thank all the Friends of Sailing group volunteers and the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron.
