2027 Scholarship applications are now closed.

Redlands Scholarships are awarded to students who are passionate about joining our learning community and will make a significant contribution to the life of the School. Scholarships are in high demand at Redlands and we especially welcome applicants who choose us as their first preference when applying through ACER.

The following Scholarships for 2027 were offered:

Year 11: Academic and Merit/All-Rounder

Year 7: Academic, Merit, Music, Dance, Coralie Amos OAM Means-tested

Scholarship candidates in all categories must sit an examination to be considered for a scholarship. The examination is conducted as part of the Cooperative Scholarship Testing Program (CSTP) administered by the Australian Council for Education Research (ACER).

2027 Scholarships

Scholarship applications have now closed. Once they open again, you can apply for a Redlands Scholarship by following these steps:

  1. Register for the ACER Examination    
  2. Complete the Redlands Application Form by clicking ‘Start your Application’ for the relevant scholarship.

Note: The navy ‘Apply Now’ button on the top right corner is for general applications only, please do not click this button if you wish to apply for a Scholarship.

Academic Scholarships

Academic Scholarships

Academic Scholarships are offered for entry to Year 7 and Year 11 to students with proven academic excellence, an exemplary work ethic and the ability to make significant contributions to the life of the School.

These Scholarships:

  • are offered as a result of the application submission, the ACER CSTP test and a successful interview with the Principal
  • may be Full or Part Scholarships for school tuition fees
  • do not cover textbooks, uniforms, excursions, technology fees or individual subject fees

Merit/All-Rounder Scholarships

Merit Scholarships are offered for entry to Year 7 and Year 11 students who have the ability to make a positive and significant contribution to the life of the School. We expect them to have an exemplary work ethic, strong academic potential and be willing to participate in cocurricular activities and be socially aware.

These Scholarships:

  • are offered following the application submission, ACER testing and a successful interview
  • may be Full or Part Scholarships for school tuition fees
  • do not cover textbooks, uniforms, excursions, technology fees or individual subject fees

Music Scholarships

Music Scholarships are offered for entry to Year 7. These scholarships:

  • are offered following the application submission, ACER testing, a successful interview and by invitation of performance in one instrument of choice, along with results in examinations in music at an appropriate level of competence
  • may be Full or Part Scholarships for school tuition fees.
  • do not cover textbooks, uniforms, private tuition, excursions, technology fees or individual subject fees

As a general guideline, applicants should be at the equivalent of at least:

  • AMEB Comprehensive Grade 8 standard or equivalent- Violin, Piano (Applicants on piano should also play a second orchestral instrument)
  • AMEB Comprehensive Grade 6 standard or equivalent – Cello, Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Oboe, Bassoon.
  • AMEB Comprehensive Grade 5 standard or equivalent – Viola, Double Bass, Orchestral Percussion, Tuba, Trumpet, French Horn, Low Brass (Trombone, Euphonium).

We do not accept vocal submissions as a primary instrument for scholarships. Voice as a secondary instrument may be taken into consideration.

Music auditions will be held on Tuesday 17 February 2026.

Dance Scholarships

Dance Scholarships to our Redlands Dance Academy are offered for entry to Year 7, these scholarships:

  • are offered as a result of a successful audition, ACER testing and interview by invitation
  • may be Full or Part Scholarships for school tuition fees
  • do not cover textbooks, uniforms (school or dance), private lessons, excursions, technology fees or individual subject fees

As a general guideline, applicants should be working on or have achieved at least RAD Grade 4 equivalent.

Dance auditions will be held on Friday 13 February from 10.00am-12.00pm with a Ballet and Contemporary class. All applicants must take part in both the ballet and contemporary classes. No preparation is necessary, but applications must be in by midnight Sunday 8 February (prior to the audition). For those selected, Dance interviews will be held on Tuesday 17 February – TBC.

In addition, there is an optional Dance Masterclass on Sunday 1 February at the Redlands Dance Academy that Dance Scholarship applicants may wish to attend. It provides an opportunity to experience a class with our exceptional teachers and meet with Head of Academy, Ms Gilly Revie, prior to audition. 

Timeline for 2027 Scholarships

  • Sunday 1 February 2026 Dance Masterclass (optional for Ballet Scholarship applicants)
  • Sunday 8 February 2026: Online ACER applications close at midnight
  • Sunday 8 February 2026: Academic, Merit, Music, Dance and Coralie Amos OAM Application Forms due by midnight.
  • Friday 13 February 2026: Dance auditions
  • Tuesday 17 February 2026: Music auditions
  • Tuesday 17 February 2026: Dance interviews – TBC
  • Saturday 28 February 2026: ACER test held at Redlands, 9.00am-12.00pm
  • March/April 2026: Shortlisted candidates interviewed; scholarships offered
  • Friday 11 April 2026: ACER results available for parents to view online

Scholarship Fees

NSW Applications

 A fee of $170 is paid online for Scholarships. This application fee allows you to apply for multiple scholarships at Redlands. 

Interstate Applications

A fee of $320 is paid online for Scholarships. This application fee allows you to apply for multiple scholarships at Redlands. 

Overseas Applications

A fee of $370 is paid online for Scholarships. This application fee allows you to apply for multiple scholarships at Redlands.

NB. Applicants must be Australian citizens or hold Australian residency

Closing Dates for Australian and Overseas Applications

ACER registrations close at midnight on Sunday 8 February 2026.

Redlands Application Forms for Academic, Merit, Music, Dance and Coralie Amos OAM Scholarships must reach Redlands by midnight on Sunday 8 February 2026.

Scholarship Conditions

  1. In all awards, the Principal reserves the right to offer Part Scholarships or to make no award at all.
  2. Scholarships are subject to annual review on the basis of the scholar’s performance over the year. Normally scholarships will continue to apply for the stated duration of the scholarship.
  3. A scholarship is provided for either full or part remission of tuition fees for the duration of the scholarship.
  4. A scholarship does not provide for the purchase of books, materials, uniforms and other day to day standard items of school requirement or activity.
  5. A scholarship does not provide for the costs of excursions, and other incidentals are not included.
  6. Scholarships are not transferable and apply only to the recipient’s education.
  7. A student who already holds a Redlands Part Scholarship may not apply again for a scholarship, except on a demonstrated “needs” basis.
  8. Decisions communicated by the Principal are final. No correspondence will be accepted or entered into.

Award and Review

Redlands Scholarships are awarded after the successful completion of the individual Scholarship application process. Acceptance of an Offer will require a Redlands Application Fee of $300 and payment of the non-refundable $4,000 Holding Fee confirming acceptance of the Scholarship for Academic, Merit, Dance and Music Scholarships; and $1,000 non-refundable Holding Fee confirming acceptance of the Coralie Amos OAM Scholarship.

All Scholarships are reviewed annually during an interview with a member of the School Executive. If the scholar is continuing to contribute to the life of the School and is making outstanding progress, their Scholarship will be renewed.
