This week has been Science Week at Redlands, and it has been wonderful to see various events, activities and guest speaker presentations highlighting and celebrating science, technology and innovation at Redlands.
On Tuesday afternoon, we heard Dr Melanie Zeppel (Redlander and current Redlands parent) present to the Junior School on the current advancements and future possibilities of artificial intelligence. Yesterday morning was our annual Breakfast with a Scientist on the Senior Campus, and I would like to thank the Redlands parents, as well as Dr Sue Morey AM (Redlander from the Class of 1959 and former Chief Health Officer of NSW) for sharing their insights and expertise with our students.
At lunchtime yesterday, we joined a number of Secondary Students in the Lang Gym for the Paper Plane Competition.
This morning we got to hear some of Dr Laura Driessen’s talk on astronomy to our Years 3-5 students, while tomorrow morning we look forward to seeing our Prep School students sharing some of their STEAM learning, followed by Dr Vanessa Pirotta’s presentation on her wildlife research.
With a Culture of Innovation as one of our key strategic drivers, it is heartening to see the many and varied activities as part of Science Week that are extending, challenging and inspiring our students in this area at Redlands.
