Ms Rachael Riley

Redlands Secondary School Teacher

Winner of the Secondary School Teacher of the Year (Non Government) – Australian Education Awards.

Rachael Riley is an experienced History educator and the Coordinator of Service and Social Engagement at Redlands. She leads programs that foster student leadership and civic responsibility, including the Matthew Talbot Breakfast Service and Festival on the Fahl, a student-run charity event. Rachael has built strong partnerships with Culture College and the Yolngu community in East Arnhem Land, helping embed First Nations perspectives across the School’s service and learning programs. Recognised with the Premier’s History Teachers Association Scholarship (2022) and Redlands Early Career Teacher Award (2018), Rachael is an accredited Experienced Teacher and an active mentor within the school’s professional learning community.

Mr Nathan Stubbs

Redlands Junior School Teacher

Nominated for the 2025 Primary School Teacher of the Year Non Government) – Australian Education Awards

Nathan Stubbs is an experienced primary teacher and the 2025 Year 1 Coordinator at Redlands. He has taught across Stages 1 to 3 and brings a strong focus on student growth, collaboration and outdoor learning. With experience in both public and independent schools, he has led K–2 events, reviewed literacy programs, mentored young staff and supported professional learning. Nathan is known for his clear communication, leadership and commitment to helping every student thrive.

2025 Australian Education Awards

This award recognised the most outstanding non-government primary school teacher in an Australian school in the 2024 academic year. Congratulations to Nathan who was nominated for this award, narrowly missing out on the win!

Gen Comino: Meet our teachers

Ms Genevieve Comino

Redlands Secondary School Teacher

Genevieve Comino is a Professionally Excellent (AIS) HALT: LEAD (NESA Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership) Accredited Australian teacher with a double degree of a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Sydney with a double major in English and History. She has three teaching areas including; History, English and TESOL (Teaching English as a Second Language).

Recognised in the Educator Hotlist Top 50 Educators in Australia for 2025

The Educator’s 11th annual Hot List celebrates teaching professionals at the leading edge of education, who raise the stakes for all. 50 Hot List nominees stood out from the rest as shining examples of educational excellence in action, with Genevieve being recognised in this list.

Awarded LEAD TEACHER in 2024

Genevieve’s Lead Initiative captured a staff mentorship program aimed at building the capacity of colleagues beginning in 2019, improving learning environments and ensuring consistent English curriculum delivery across the High Country (Moonbah) and Cremorne campuses. This initiative focused on enhancing collaboration among staff to support student learning and engagement. Through ongoing adjustments, the program fostered stronger teaching practices and contributed to a more unified approach across both campuses.

Awarded PROFESSIONAL EXCELLENCE in 2024

AIS personally acknowledged that Genevieve has showed her practice to be at the level of Professional Excellence and that she not only improved her own teaching and student learning but also that of her colleagues, whilst consistently upholding the ethos of Redlands.

Liz Green - Meet our Teachers

Ms Liz Green

Redlands Innovation and Entrepreneurial Learning Strategist (P-12)

Liz Green is the Innovation and Entrepreneurial Learning Strategist (P-12) at Redlands, who was named Entrepreneurial Educator of the Year in the 2024 Teens in Business Awards.

Liz has embedded entrepreneurial thinking across the school, empowering students to solve meaningful problems by stepping beyond the traditional and embracing new technologies and learning experiences. Her initiatives include the delivery of the Ignite Innovation program, a bespoke Entrepreneurial Startup Bootcamp, a forthcoming Year 10 Commercialisation Challenge and many other practical learning opportunities, ensuring every student has access to relevant, connected and impactful entrepreneurial learning.

Rachel Haines: Meet our teachers

Ms Rachel Haines

Redlands Learning Support Teacher
Rachel Haines is an experienced and passionate educator who began her teaching career at Redlands in 2008. Over the years, she has taught across a range of year groups and established herself as a committed and reflective practitioner. In 2023, Rachel completed her Experienced Teacher accreditation, followed by a Master of Inclusive Education in 2024. In 2025, she achieved Highly Accomplished Teacher (HALT) accreditation, recognising her sustained impact on student learning and leadership in improving teaching practice.

HALT Accreditation
The Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher (HALT) certification is a national voluntary process governed by the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL). It recognises exemplary educators who demonstrate sustained, high-impact teaching practice and lead colleagues to improve student outcomes. The certification requires rigorous, standards-based evidence across four domains: Professional Knowledge, Professional Practice, Professional Engagement and Impact. 
Mathew Owen

Mr Mathew Owen

Director of Music Performance
Mathew Owen is the Director of Music Performance P–12, overseeing a dynamic program of music ensembles, private tuition and cocurricular events that engage over 500 students beyond the classroom. He has initiated a unique student conducting program at Redlands to foster musical leadership. He has also led the launch of the inaugural Music Performance Competition, expanding performance opportunities across the School. Mathew leads a dedicated team of music educators committed to delivering high-quality, inclusive and inspiring music experiences for all students at Redlands.
 
Finalist: Secondary Division Certificate of Excellence for the Early Career Educator Award
A recipient of the NSW Teachers Guild’s Certificate of Excellence as an Early Career Finalist in 2022, Mathew is recognised for his innovative secondary teaching practice and leadership in music education.
Andre

Mr Andre Adam-De-Villiers

Redlands Junior Campus PDHPE Teacher
Andre Adam-De-Villiers is a dedicated and innovative educator who has been teaching Primary PDHPE for over a decade. Andre has led departments in both PDHPE and Wellbeing, bringing a strategic and student-centred approach to curriculum design and school-wide initiatives. Andre is known for creating meaningful, engaging movement experiences that build confidence, collaboration and lifelong wellbeing. His teaching philosophy is grounded in purposeful play, strong relationships and making every student feel seen and capable. In addition to his role at Redlands, Andre has tutored and lectured in Physical Education at the tertiary level, helping to shape the next generation of teachers. He has also presented at several educational conferences, sharing his expertise in relational practice, inclusive movement and innovative approaches to Primary PDHPE.
 
NSW Teachers Guild World Teachers Recognition Award
In 2024, Andre was recognised with the NSW Teachers Guild World Teachers Recognition Award for his contribution to education. He also serves as an executive on the PDHPE Teachers Association Board, where he continues to advocate for high-quality, inclusive practice across the state.
