Please help and volunteer for the Redlands Cup
Calling all Redlands Parents with children competing in the Redlands Cup – WE NEED YOU! Without parental support and volunteers The Redlands Cup cannot go ahead and the same goes for the Interschools Competition. Redlands needs about 40 parents to raise their hand and help out before and during The Redlands Cup Day and the great thing is you do not need any previous experience, so please join up. We need people to help roll and package race bibs; we need people to give out bibs and answer questions; but mostly we need gate judges which requires no formal training. Ski Japan will be donating very cozy and stylish softshell jackets for you to use (and keep!), so it is well worth your effort.
The Interschools has also announced that each school must supply 1 volunteer for every 8 competing students and last year Redlands entered around 300 students across 5 disciplines, which means we also need around 40 mums and dads to lend a hand. Gate judges and start marshals are the jobs that need to be filled and generally this takes a couple of hours of your time.
We would kindly request that parents of competitors who are unable to volunteer contribute towards the costs of the event management particularly in relation to the Interschools events who have a strict volunteer quota requirement and charge schools for their shortfall. These contributions will go towards both Redlands Cup and Interschools event costs and all contributions are gratefully received. Donations of $30 can be made through the Redlands Volunteering Site (link below).
