Excellent HSC Results for Redlands Students
As the clock stuck 9.00am, and students across the country hit ‘refresh’, the results rolled in for half of the Redlands Class of 2016 – finding out their HSC results following years of work and study.
With the anticipation high, the Redlands Class of 2016 HSC students exceeded the expectations of their final year.
Top achieving Redlands HSC students included:
- Alana Adamus: Alana achieved Band 6 results in Mathematics Extension 1 and 2 and English Extension 1. She hopes to study Engineering at Duke University in the USA, or at the University of New South Wales and was the HSC Dux, a Prefect and Captain of Tennis.
- Zoe Baker: Zoe achieved Band 6 results in Mathematics, Mathematics Extension 1, Biology and Visual Arts. Zoe plans to attend Charles Sturt University in Bathurst, to study Physiotherapy.
Yael Weiss of Year 11 achieved 2nd in the state for Modern Hebrew Continuers. Lucinda Cripps was selected for both ARTEXPRESS and Texstyle and Zara Olsen was selected for Texstyle for their major works.
Redlands Principal, Dr Peter Lennox, said that the HSC cohort has shown their dedication throughout the year, and their results reflect that.
“I congratulate each and every one of our 2016 HSC students, and their families, our teachers and broader school community.
“The Class of 2016 set the bar high for themselves and I am confident that they each did their best.
“As a Year Group who dedicated themselves to both their academic and extra-curricular school life, I am looking forward to seeing what is in store in the future for our graduates.”
For 49% of Redland Class of 2016, the results are in, but for the 51% of students who undertook the International Baccalaureate, the wait is not over until 4 January.
