The Junior School sports program is an integral part of the overall education provision of the School. All students are involved in the program and a wide range of sporting activities is provided to cater for individual ability and preferences. Students choose the activities in which they will participate, with both representative and non-representative options being available.
The aim of the Sports program is to promote the skills and qualities that are an inherent part of being in a team. Individual skill development within the framework of a co-operative environment allows a student to understand the value of the individual as part of the whole. This vital life skill can then be transferred to other areas of a students’ involvement.
In addition to weekly physical education classes, students undertake sport one afternoon each week with the focus on training for upcoming carnivals, game sense and teamwork.
Junior School Competitions
Years 3-6 compete within the JSHAA (Junior Sports Head Association of Australia) and games are played in the Sydney Metropolitan area. Many Redlands students represent the school in club competitions such as Northern Suburbs Tennis or Northern Beaches Netball.
