Extra-Curricular


The extra-curricular program complements the academic program and provides a diversity of activities designed to motivate and challenge students and build confidence.

We offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities for Junior students. These include

Musical Instrumental Program

The Music Instrumental Program (MIP) is a curriculum based “instrumental experience” designed to give students in Years 5 and 6 the opportunity to learn instruments in a group situation. It provides the stepping stone for students to join the extensive co-curricular music ensemble progam offered at Redlands.

All Year 5 and 6 students learn an instrument and play in ensembles in a group lesson for 75 minutes each week. The range of instruments available includes both Strings and Band Instruments:
Violin, Viola, Cello, Guitar, Flute, Double Bass, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn, Euphonium, Percussion, Orff Percussion.

Private Music Tuition program

Students have the opportunity to receive private tuition on instruments, voice and musicianship. Regular opportunities are provided for performance in lunchtime concerts and studio recitals.

Performance

Students perform at a variety of School events including the Junior Music Festival, assemblies, curriculum concerts, open day sessions and Grandparent's Day.
