Scholarships

 

 Each year we offer a limited number of Scholarships for entry to Redlands in the following areas:

  • Academic
  • Merit/All-Rounder
  • Music
  • Ballet & Dance

Scholarships are available to external students and currently enrolled students.

Applications close Thursday 9 April 2009 for 2010 Scholarships.  Details re applying for 2010 Scholarships are listed below.

 Scholarship Details

 2010 Academic Scholarships  

  • 2010 Academic Scholarships will be offered for Years 7 and 11.
  • They may be Full or Part Scholarships
  • They are awarded as a result of the ACER CSTP test.
  • Examinations are conducted as part of the Cooperative Scholarship Testing Program (CSTP) administered by the Australian Council for Education Research (ACER) on Saturday 9 May 2009.

Merit/All-Rounder, Music and Ballet/Dance Scholarships

 

  • These scholarships are awarded as a result of the ACER testing and  relevant interview/performance/audition.
  • Candidates must register for the ACER CSTP test AND complete the relevant Redlands Application Form.

Merit/All-Rounder Scholarships

 

  • 2010 Merit Scholarships will be offered for entry to Years 9 and 11.
  • They may be Full or Part Scholarships.
  • They are awarded as a result of the ACER test, interview, academic record, participation in sport, the arts and contribution to the wider community. (each is evaluated equally).
  • Examinations are conducted as part of the Cooperative Scholarship Testing Program (CSTP) administered by the Australian Council for Education Research (ACER) on Saturday 9 May 2009.
  • Registrations for the ACER CSTP Test are made online.  To register, please click here.
  • Applicants must also complete the Redlands Merit Scholarship application form.

Music Scholarships

 

  • 2010 Music Scholarships will be offered for entry to Year 7.
  • They may be Full or Part Scholarships
  • They are awarded as a result of the ACER test, interview, performance in one instrument of choice and results in examinations in music at level of competence.
  • Examinations are conducted as part of the Cooperative Scholarship Testing Program (CSTP) administered by the Australian Council for Education Research (ACER) on Saturday 9 May 2009.

Ballet & Dance Scholarships

 

  • 2010 Ballet & Dance Scholarships are offered for entry to Years 7.
  • They may be Full or Part Scholarships.
  • They are awarded as a result of the ACER testing, interview and audition.

Thursday 9 April 2009: Applications close for all scholarships

Saturday 9 May 2009:  ACER CSTP Test conducted at Redlands

Friday 15 May 2009:     Auditions/Interviews for Music and Ballet/Dance Scholarships

June 2009:                    Interviews for Merit/All-Rounder Scholarships

June-July 2009:            Scholarships offered and candidates notified of application outcome.

 

Scholarship Fees

 

  • A fee of $100 is paid online for all Scholarship registrations.
  • Registrations, including overseas registrations must be made by 5.00pm Thursday 9 April 2009
  • Candidates registering after this date will incur a late fee of $225 (base registration fee of $100 + late fee of $120)
  • The online base registration fee of $100 also covers the application fees for all other Redlands Scholarships.

 

Scholarship Conditions

 

1. In all awards the Principal reserves the right to offer portion scholarships or to make no award at all.

2. Scholarships are subject to annual review on the basis of the scholar's performance over the year.  Normally scholarships will continue to apply for the stated duration of the scholarship.

3. A scholarship is provided for either full or part remission of tuition fees for the duration of the scholarship.

4. A scholarship does not provide for payment in purchase of books, materials, uniforms and other day to day standard items of school requirement or activity. Costs of excursions and other incidentals are not included.

5. Scholarships are not transferable and apply only to the recipient's education.

6. A student who already holds a Redlands Part Scholarship, may not apply again for a scholarship except on a demonstrated “needs” basis.

7.  A current Redlands student cannot apply for a scholarship into Year 11, except on a demonstrated “needs” basis.

8.  No current Redlands student will be granted a 100% scholarship other than on a demonstrated “needs” basis.

9. Decisions communicated by the Principal are final. No correspondence will be accepted or entered into.
