Redlands - Let your light shine

Visual Arts

Visual Art and Design are some of the keys to the future whereby students can learn how to read the visual complexities of their world and gradually create a better world using the appropriate technology.

Drawing, painting, sculpture, digital photography, film and animation, black and white photography and printmaking are amongst the challenging disciplines offered.

Students are involved in shows both within and outside of the school such as the Redlands Visual Arts Show, the Redlands Photographic Competition, the Mosman Youth Prize, St Peter’s Art Prize as well as various community and collaborative projects.

The Year 11 Art Camp, held at the Arthur Boyd Education Centre on the Shoalhaven River, gives Visual Arts students the opportunity to engage with the landscape and absorb the professional practices of one of Australia’s greatest artists.

The Redlands Westpac Art Prize, established by the School in 1995, provides an extensive collection of recognized artworks for learning. Using an innovative online forum, students have the chance to learn from these leading contemporary artists and gain insights into the artists’ concepts, methods and intentions.
